Dr. Trevan Samp "Dr. Trev”

Trevan and his wife, Ashley, moved from Denver, Colorado to the Lowcountry in May 2020. Their daughter, Bowie, and son, Webster, were both born at East Cooper Hospital, and they have absolutely loved life in Charleston. Ever the adrenaline junkie, Dr. Trev traded in weekly mountain skiing and hiking "14ers" for beaches, boating and kite surfing (You can probably find him struggling to learn this new hobby at Sullivan's Island on a windy weekend!).

Dr. Trev played football (Wide Receiver) for Brown University and was a member of the 2008 Ivy League Championship team. After college, Dr. Trev attended another Ivy school (UPenn) to become a dentist!

Since graduation from Orthodontics residency at University of the Pacific (San Francisco) in 2016, Dr. Trev worked in NJ, PA, and CO before landing in South Carolina. Dr. Trev is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics after strict case presentations and in-person exams. Dr. Trev is constantly taking CE courses to better treatment efficiencies and is motivated by how technology is changing the game in orthodontics.

Dr. Trev started High Tide Orthodontics from scratch in January 2023! Born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dr. Trev is a huge Cheeshead (Go Pack Go). The Mount Pleasant community has been so welcoming!

Treatment Coordinator

Ashley Riddle

Ashley Riddle brings her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for helping others to her role as Treatment Coordinator at High Tide Orthodontics. As a former bridal beauty business owner, Ashley excels at working with patients daily, guiding them through their treatment plans with care and attention to detail.

Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Ashley moved to Charleston in 2017 and quickly fell in love with the coastal lifestyle. A proud mom of three, she balances her professional role with her creative pursuits, which include event design and working as a freelance artist.

Ashley’s ability to combine her background in beauty and creativity with her patient-focused approach makes her an invaluable part of the High Tide Orthodontics team. She loves connecting with patients and helping them achieve the confident smiles they deserve.

Jill

Orthodontic Assistant

Jill Collins

Jill brings four years of experience to her Orthodontic Assistant role at High Tide Orthodontics. A proud fur mama to three dogs and a cat, Jill's nurturing nature extends beyond her family of pets to the patients she supports daily.

Before settling in Charleston, Jill lived in New Jersey, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Texas, cultivating a deep appreciation for diverse communities. A former competitive swimmer in NJ and USA swim coach in OK, Jill's dedication to excellence and teamwork is reflected in everything she does. Adding a creative touch to her background, Jill also played the violin in an orchestra, a testament to her commitment to discipline and harmony.

In her free time, Jill enjoys curling up with a good book, whether it’s by the beach or in the comfort of her home. She’s passionate about making every patient feel welcomed and valued, ensuring their orthodontic journey is as seamless as the coastal vibe of High Tide Orthodontics.

Part Time Orthodontic Assistant

Shelby Sad

Shelby brings five years of orthodontic experience and a genuine love for patient care to our team. A Charleston native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Charleston Southern University and now works full-time as a nurse at Roper Hospital. Despite her busy schedule, Shelby still finds time to lend her skills and warm personality to our office. Whether she’s assisting chairside or connecting with patients, her calming presence makes everyone feel at ease. Outside of work, she enjoys taking long walks around Charleston and diving into a good thriller novel.

Insurance Specialist

Whit West

A Charleston native and proud Lowcountry local, Whit brings nearly 20 years of experience in the dental field to the High Tide Orthodontics team. Her journey in dentistry began in 2006 while attending the College of Charleston, and over the years she has gained extensive knowledge through cross-training in multiple areas of dental care.

As our Insurance Coordinator, Whit is passionate about helping families understand their benefits and navigating the financial side of orthodontic treatment with ease and confidence. She finds great fulfillment in supporting patients behind the scenes and ensuring every step of their journey is as smooth as possible.

Outside the office, Whit’s life centers around her family. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 17 years, and together they are raising three children. In her free time, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, spending time outdoors, and soaking up every moment with her loved ones in the coastal place she calls home.

Front Desk Coordinator

Raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Reese moved from New Jersey at a young age and has called the Lowcountry home for most of her life. She is currently a student at Trident Technical College preparing to enter the Dental Hygiene program. Reese has been interested in the dental field since second grade, and that early passion continues to shape her career path. A 2024 graduate of Wando High School, she is excited to pursue a future in dentistry centered on patient care and helping others feel confident in their smiles. Outside of work and school, Reese enjoys mat pilates, going to the gym, spending time with friends, and caring for her three cats.
